Your security, our obligation

While Google Cloud provides a safe space for the array of information stored in the cloud infrastructure, one question that might come into the mind of many: Is Google Cloud PDPA compliant?

Unsurprisingly, the answer is always yes. As Google Cloud deals with important data, strict compliance must be implemented upon its security and privacy infrastructure.

In Malaysia, data protection is primarily governed by the Personal Data Protection Act (PDPA) 2010 which sets out a comprehensive framework for the protection of personal data. Therefore, not only does Google Cloud have to have an impenetrable infrastructure, it has to comply with PDPA and undergo regular audits, maintain certifications, and provide industry-standard contractual protections.

This high bar was set to protect Google Cloud customers by centering security and data protection at the core of how Google designed and built its product. It is the Google Cloud’s fundamental premise that customers own their own customer data and it is for Google to safeguard such data and provide you with tools and features to control such information on your terms.
